It’s time for San Antonio Spurs vs Atlanta Hawks

The Spurs can’t let down tonight against Trae Young and the talented Hawks

NBA: San Antonio Spurs at Atlanta Hawks Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

Wednesday’s game in Miami didn’t work out as planned, but hope springs eternal in Spurs land, and tonight they return home to play one of the worst teams in the NBA, the Atlanta Hawks. Even though Atlanta is one of the worst teams, they have one of the best players, Trae Young, who torched the Silver and Black the last time the two teams met in a rare win for the Hawks. This looks for a chance for the Spurs to pick up a win, but they can’t take it for granted against this talented, but young and raw team. Dejounte Murray is going to have to pick up his defense tonight, and hopefully Lonnie Walker IV will break out of his recent mini-slump (if Pop lets him play). DeMar DeRozan has been consistently great, but the rest of the team needs to step up and be more consistent if the Spurs are going to fight their way back into playoff contention. Go SPURS GooOOOoo!!
