Game Thread for USA vs. France

The quarterfinals wrap up today.

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

Today the United States competes in the Quarterfinals and faces France, who landed 4-1 after the initial two rounds. For Marilyn’s preview, click here.

On Tuesday, Argentina vanquished the Serbian team, who most considered the United States’ greatest obstacle toward the World Cup. The Argentine team awaits the winner of this match up for their the next round on Friday.

In addition, Spain ousted Poland. They await the winner of the following match up between Australia and the Czech Republic.

As has been the custom, this game is not airing on the networks, so please feel free to share updates if you are watching.

*Note: ESPN says this game will be broadcast on ESPN 2, but it’s not showing on my cable line-up. Still worth checking out if you’re up early enough to watch.
