Yesterday officially kicked off the FIBA Men’s Basketball World Cup. Before Derrick White and Team USA start, it should be noted that some other Spurs teammates have already tipped off.
As most are sure, Patty Mills has kicked it up a notch in his native Australia giving Team USA their first loss in quite some time.
Chimezie Metu, alongside other NBA alums Al-Farouq Aminu and Josh Okogie represented Nigeria in their loss to Russia on day one. There must have been a Spurs fan watching though as he was nice enough to isolate some highlights featuring the Spurs’s forward.
In addition, Marco Belinelli is playing for his native Italy. Alongside Danilo Gallinari, the Italians walloped the Philippines by 46 points.
Team USA hit the hardwood this morning against Turkey at 7:30 a.m. available by live stream through ESPN+.
