There’s one more tune-up game for the US Men’s basketball team, and it’s being played early Monday morning in Australia vs. the Canada national team. By the time you read this, you will probably know whether the team was able to bounce back from their historic loss to Patty Mills and the Australian national team on Saturday.

Derrick White is now officially on the USA team roster, and despite some swelling over his left eye and four stitches after a scary fall in Saturday’s game, he looks ready to go for Monday’s game, having passed concussion protocol before practicing. The USA team plays their first tournament game on September 1 against the Czech Republic in Shanghai, China.

UPDATE: The US beat Canada 84-68. They look ready to start the tournament next Sunday.

NOTE: Jeph is on vacation today, and he will return with a new open thread tomorrow. Enjoy yourselves, and be nice to the substitute teacher.
