Watch Lonnie Walker nail down the range of his three point shot

Sure it’s practice, but 13-for-13 is impressive nonetheless.

We have officially reached the doldrums of the NBA off-season. Just in time for Spurs fans looking for something to get excited about, it appears that Lonnie Walker IV has been spending some hours in the gym honing his craft.

Walker’s agent George Langberg provided what may be a sneak peak of what’s to come for Walker next season as he drills three pointer after three pointer in what appears to be the University of Miami’s practice gym, Walker’s alma mater.

Now of course, it is just an open gym and doesn’t necessarily mean Walker is going to come out next season guns blazing shooting 45% from three. But when you pair this with his impressive shooting from summer league it becomes a reason to be excited. Walker shot an incredible 42.9% from three (and over 50% from the field) while dominating the lesser competition of summer league.

It is incredibly encouraging to see Walker focusing, and apparently improving, on his perimeter shot. The Spurs are going to have a very unique and young (for them) roster next season and Walker breaking out in a big way can swing the outcome of the year. If that break out is indeed coming, shooting well from three is essential for the soon to be second year guard.
