It’s time for Spurs vs Nuggets Game 7

NBA: Playoffs-Denver Nuggets at San Antonio Spurs Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

Have I said before that this year’s version of the Spurs is amazing? They’ve risen to the challenge in the playoffs, taking the second-seeded Nuggets to a pivotal game 7 with their best effort of the season on Thursday night in San Antonio. Tonight, they’re in Denver and once again have to take on Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and a tumultuous home crowd in the Pepsi Center. The Spurs have gotten great performances from LaMarcus Aldridge and DeMar DeRozan, and in addition, Derrick White has played his best basketball in the playoffs. But perhaps the biggest surprise has been Jakob Poeltl, who has been the defensive anchor for the Silver and Black. He needs to continue that work tonight. Go Spurs GO!
