For as long as Gregg Popovich has coached the Spurs, they’ve been good at defense. Well, at least until this year. I once took a class from Edward Tufte, and he taught me how a good visual presentation of data can enrich your understanding of numbers. This image from @StatMuse is a great example how an effective use of graphics can really help your understanding of quantitative data. This might be the best basketball infographic ever created.

This year’s team has really had trouble with defensive rotations. Certainly a lot of it is due to injuries and roster turnover, but a lot of times players aren’t where they’re supposed to be and the communication just isn’t there. What do you think is wrong with the Spurs defense?
