As the number of women who hold powerful positions in in the NBA continues to grow, Spurs assistant coach Becky Hammon remains a highly regarded pioneer of the movement. First-year Spur/nine-year veteran Quincy Pondexter has certainly taken notice in just the half a season he has been here, giving nothing but praise for his time spent working with her.
“Becky has really opened my eyes to see brilliance in basketball comes in all forms. Her love & passion for the game not only makes me better as a player, but the organization better for having her here.” - Spurs’ Quincy Pondexter on coach Becky Hammon#QuincyCloseUp Coming Soon pic.twitter.com/cLQFOwqSQK

However, it’s not just Spurs who have noticed the impact she is having on the sport. In the Spurs’ recent game in Portland, Damian Lillard took some time to play a little one-on-one with her and heap some more praise.
A bright future certainly awaits Becky, and hopefully it’s with the Spurs.
