Game Thread: San Antonio Spurs at Houston Rockets

The Rockets try to avenge losing a game to the Spurs and a protest to the league office

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

On December 3, the Spurs played a 2 overtime thriller against the Rockets that saw a breakout game from Lonnie Walker IV and a protest from the Rockets about a basket that wasn’t counted early in the fourth quarter. The league admitted that the referees erred in not reviewing the call, but disallowed the protest because it was not the deciding factor in the game. They also did not review the multiple bad calls that went in favor of the Rockets.

Nevertheless, all of this drama is motivation for James Harden and the Rockets, who truly believe they’ve been done wrong. Spurs fans know the real story of the game was the emergence of Lonnie (SKY) Walker, who showed that he belongs on the court for the Silver and Black. He’s questionable tonight with a knee contusion, but recently, the Spurs have been pretty successful at making things tough on Harden and the Rockets, whoever is on the court, so I’m looking forward to another fun game.

Hopefully, this time the referees will count all of the baskets, and call backcourt violations when they occur, and not let players grab a rebound from out of bounds. With any luck, this game will be over after 48 minutes, and the Spurs will score the most points. Go SPURS GooOOOoo!!
