Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.
The loss on Thursday to the Cavs was so bad, the Spurs had to leave the country. It’s really hard to come up with something good to say about Thursday night, the Spurs played terribly against a bad team but somehow were able to gain a lead late in the fourth. But thanks to stagnant offense, missing free throws and dumb defense, they let the Cavs take the game to overtime, where the Silver and Black did nothing a good team would do. The lone bright spot would be that Lonnie Walker IV played pretty well in limited minutes, and deserves to get consistent rotation minutes. Tonight, the Spurs face the Suns in Mexico City, which should be a good opportunity for the reeling Spurs to pick up a win with DeAndre Ayton (suspension) and Devin Booker (arm) out tonight. But this is a team that only occasionally plays well, well enough to give fans false hope. Will more of that false hope be doled out tonight? Let’s watch and find out. Go SPURS GooOOOoo!!
