The Spurs face off against the Timberwolves in the middle of a three game home stand

NBA: San Antonio Spurs at Minnesota Timberwolves Jesse Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

The Spurs lost to LeBron James and the Lakers on Monday, but they took a day off and face Karl-Anthony Towns and the Timberwolves tonight. These teams met just two weeks ago in Minnesota, and the Wolves came out with an easy 129-114 win. The Spurs defense seems to be improving, so hopefully they can keep the score a little lower tonight, and who knows, if they can also score more points, it could be a win for the Silver and Black. Marco Belinelli didn’t play on Monday, so it will be interesting to see if Pop gets him some run tonight. It’s DeMar DeRozan bobblehead night, so get your souvenirs, even if there are some rumblings that he may be traded soon. Go SPURS GooOOOoo!!
