Game Thread: San Antonio Spurs vs Portland Trail Blazers

The Spurs are at home on a back to back, and need a win

NBA: Portland Trail Blazers at San Antonio Spurs Daniel Dunn-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

The Spurs are on a four game losing streak, and they’re back home tonight on the second night of a back to back. Dejounte Murray will be resting [load management], so tonight Derrick White will have to get the starters going early. They played well at the start last night, but couldn’t hold on last night against the Magic, just falling short at the end with a crucial call of a flagrant foul ending their comeback. Carmelo Anthony has joined the Trail Blazers, but he won’t be available tonight, but the backcourt duo of CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard will be tough enough to handle. Hopefully, DeMar DeRozan can get over the disappointment of last night, and Jakob Poeltl can build on his strong performance. Join me in watching tonight, and Go SPURS GooOOOoo!!
