Spurs legend Tony Parker is back in San Antonio for the Hornets’ only game in the Alamo City this season. In an amazing image captured this morning and posted to his Instagram account, Parker documents his first moments back in the AT&T Center since he departed in free agency, calling the moment “emotional and nostalgic”.
I imagine the emotion and nostalgia will continue to grow as we approach tip-off time, especially if the Spurs do what we expect and give him an amazing video tribute before the game. If I had to venture a while guess, I’d say he receives a completely opposite reception than The Nephew did.
Update: Tony spoke more about his feelings about returning to San Antonio today at shoot-around. He had nothing but great things to say about the Spurs and fans, and for anyone who is wondering: yes, he will be here and speak at Manu Ginobili’s jersey retirement ceremony on March 28.
"It's very emotional, obviously. Very nostalgic since I arrived in San Antonio. It just feels good to see everybody and... [feel] all the love from San Antonio. I'm excited and can't wait for tonight." - @TonyParker #Hornets30
