The draft will be televised on ESPN starting at 6:00 PM CDT. Stay tuned to see if R.C. and Pop will make a trade to change position, or end up standing pat and taking the newest Spur at the 18th spot. Whatever happens, it should be exciting.

UPDATES:

The Spurs are not negotiating with the Lakers

The Lakers tried to start trade talks with the Spurs, hoping to land Kawhi Leonard, but haven’t gotten very far. At this point, it doesn’t look like San Antonio is ready to send Leonard to his preferred destination.

The Spurs have explored trading up for Lonnie Walker

The Spurs are intrigued by Lonnie Walker and could select him if he drops to the 18th pick, according to The Athletic’s Sam Vecenie and ESPN’s Jonathan Givony. The interest appears to be so strong that other teams interested in the shooting guard are looking to trade up past the Spurs to scoop him up if he drops.

The Spurs have also had preliminary talks about moving up, contacting the Hornets about the possibility of acquiring the 11th pick, according to HoopsHype. No details about the potential trade are available at this point.

The Clippers tried to trade for Leonard

According the The New York Times Marc Stein, the Clippers inquired with the Spurs about trading for Leonard in exchange for Tobias Harris and either the 12th or 13th pick, but it predictably did not happen as they selected Miles Bridges at 12th (traded to the Hornets for 11th pick Shai Gilgeous-Alexander) and Jerome Robinson at 13th.
