As you may recall, on Friday I posted that DeMar DeRozan is one of three active players to average 24/6/6. Well, not to be outdone, Rudy Gay has joined an elite trio of sorts:
Of course, LeBron James is one of the three. There is a nary a modern-day record that doesn’t have the James stamp. In addition, Russell Westbrook is on this list. Westbrook and James are both former NBA MVP award recipients, which makes Gay’s appearance an outlier of sorts.
Gay, James, and Westbrook are the only active players who have amassed 14,000 points, 4,000 rebounds, and 1,000 steals since 2006. Pretty impressive numbers. And considering how much time Gay spent out with injuries, he’s reached this point with less minutes clocked than his counterparts.
Considering personality, team ethic basketball, and clutch decision making, which one of these three would you prefer to have on your San Antonio Spurs?
