The 5-2 Record is sustainable

Well the spurs have cobbled together a nice opening salvo in the face of all the pundits who have questioned whether they will be a playoff team, let alone a contender.

I'm not about to bet against KD, Klay, Draymond and Curry in a 7 game series, but seriously, do we only watch the spurs because we think they are winning the chip?

It isn't a great reality to live by. I didn't understand Pop initially when he said he 'didn't give a damn about championships', or something to that effect. It sounded like someone who was bored of winning. But dig a little deeper and you realize that he is talking about the pursuit in itself; winning isn't the trophy, its the process and events that make a team the best it can be, and that is the prize. Forgive me if this thought process has been covered before, but thought now is a good time to emphasize again.

I'm fascinated to see how good Rudy, DeMar and LaMarcus can be as a core unit driving a team forward. Here are 3 guys who are super talented, and have received their fair share of individual plaudits, but who have not been regarded in the top echelon of the game due to playoff success. They all seem like pretty solid individuals who deserve a chance to be supported by fans to see how far they can take a franchise.

It is a shame they don't have Murray this year, but Derrick might yet have a big impact.

No matter what, I will enjoy this year more than last year, 2015, 2010 and definitely 1997 (before Duncan).
