Last season, Gay tore his achilles while playing for the Kings. Since then, he has been rehabbing to get back on the court.
Hopes were that the former King would suit up for tonight’s game due to a flurry of encouraging reports regarding his comeback.
On September 28th, Melissa Rohlin of mysanantonio.com reported that Gay is now "pain-free" in his achilles. This, along with positive reports on his performance during a team scrimmage, had many excited about watching him play.
However, the powers-that-be seem to be taking a more conservative path by resting him. Hopefully, Spurs fans will be able to see Gay on the floor this Friday, when San Antonio will be hosting ... the Sacramento Kings.
