After suffering a pregame injury before Thursday night’s 118-104 win over Denver and later being diagnosed with a fractured fourth metacarpal in his left hand, Spurs center Pau Gasol is now taking the next step toward recovery.
Via Adrian Wojnarowski, Gasol will undergo surgery to repair the fracture:

There’s no timeline yet for his return.

Forward David Lee made a spot start in Gasol’s place Thursday night, notching a double-double with 10 points and 16 rebounds. But fellow forward Dewayne Dedmon is an option to replace Gasol as well.
San Antonio returns to action Saturday night at Cleveland.
