Could Dwyane Wade end up on the San Antonio Spurs?

The star guard has "put out feelers" to the Spurs.

Dwyane Wade is re-entering into contract negotiations with the Miami Heat. Once considered a "HeatLifer," the star guard is now openly considering joining another team if the Heat play hardball and decide not to retain his services.

This, from ESPN's Brian Windhorst from a radio interview:

"Over the last 24, 72 hours, Dwyane's representatives have been calling around the league to several teams. Not to every team, not to 29 teams, but to a few teams and have said to them, "Hey, Dwyane is going to be available and is going to take offers."

"I know San Antonio is one of the teams that's been contacted. I know Dallas is one of the teams that's been contacted."

The Miami Heat, as they approach tonight's pending free agency period, are trying to 1.) retain Dwyane Wade, 2.) retain Hassan Whiteside, and, 3.) somehow sign Kevin Durant. All three of those things cannot happen if each player comands his proper max.

If the Heat decide to try and play hardball with Dwyane, could we see him cut ties and sign somewhere else? The star player has only worn the Heat jersey since being drafted by the organization in the 2005 draft.

He'd provide a very interesting backcourt dynamic alongside Tony Parker and Danny Green.

What do you guys think? Would it be a smart move?
