Three years ago, the Spurs were on the precipice of an NBA championship. But for a wacky bounce of the ball and an insane Ray Allen shot, the Spurs would have wrapped up a championship in Game 6. However, the Heat forced Game 7, and eventually won the title.
Sure, this was painful, but the pain was lessened the next year as the Spurs erased their loss and beat the Heat in an epic rematch.
As we all hunker down for another Game 7 tonight between the Warriors and Cavaliers, let's remember 2013, when the Spurs came thiiiiis close to winning.
