ESPN ranks Tim Duncan at #8 All-Time

The Big Fundamental ranks as the highest San Antonio player in history, breaking ESPN's top 10 All-Time #NBArank

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Over the past few weeks, PtR has counted down Spurs players honored in ESPN's All-Time #NBArank. The ballot, which was composed of ESPN expert panel voters, breached the top 10 this week.

Tim Duncan -- The Big Fundamental, and arguably the greatest power forward of all time -- landed at #8. For those obsessed with black-and-silver culture, his accomplishments are common knowledge:

Did you know?
Duncan is the only player over the past 35 years to be named First-Team All-NBA as a rookie. And last season, at the age of 38, he tied Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the oldest player to be named to an All-NBA team. He is the only player to start on NBA championship teams in three different decades. His 15 All-Defensive team selections are the most in NBA history. -- ESPN Stats & Info

Since 1999, Duncan has served as Coach Gregg Popovich's muse, and the duo have won five championships in over 18 seasons.

Combined with Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili,  the "Big Three" are the winningest trio of all-time, surpassing Bird, McHale, and Parish's tally last October.

After suffering from a nagging knee issue that has prohibited Duncan from playing in the last eight games, some believe that this may be the future Hall-of-Famer's last rodeo. If this is the case, his #21 jersey will immediately be elevated in the rafters of the AT&T Center next to Bruce Bowen's #12 -- a deserving final chapter for the best player for the San Antonio Spurs, and one of the most decorated competitors in NBA history.
