Leonard to miss Suns game with stomach issues

Forward Kawhi Leonard will miss his first game of the season Wednesday night

After starting each of his team’s first 31 games this year, Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard has been ruled out of Wednesday night’s home matchup with Phoenix.

The Spurs made the announcement earlier Wednesday that Leonard will sit with gastroenteritis.

The sixth-year player is averaging 24.4 points and 6 rebounds per game.

The Spurs and Suns tip off 7:30 p.m. CT Wednesday in San Antonio.
