The Spurs last met the Bulls on the 8th of December and while Chicago held on for a four point victory that day, they’ve gone 2-5 since. Their last four games include a blowout at the hands of the Bucks, a beatdown of the woeful Pistons, and double-digit losses to the Wizards and Hornets.
Chicago comes to town trying to avoid losing three straight games for the third time this month. The Bulls don’t shoot well from behind the arc or overall. They don’t get many steals, and they don’t score a lot of points. But they’re first in the league in rebounds, they hit their free throws and they get their fair share of blocks.
This is the Bulls’ third game in five days, and the Spurs’ fourth in six — so neither team is very well rested, but at least the Spurs have been home since Saturday morning.
San Antonio will have everyone available, as Manu Ginobili, Pau Gasol and Tony Parker come off rest for the Christmas Day game. So get your presents all given away, and the turkey/ham/duck polished off, and enjoy the game.
