It was a slow start for the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night but a strong second-half performance from the Silver and Black got the Spurs back over .500 at home with a thrilling win over the Washington Wizards.
Halfway through the fourth quarter the Spurs built an eight-point lead but the Wizards kept with it and fought all the way back to take a 103-102 lead with 53 seconds left to play. A Danny Green triple put the Spurs back on top before John Wall got to the rack to tie it at 105 with 11 seconds to play.
So the Spurs turned to their main man, with Manu Ginobili finding Kawhi Leonard for a 20-footer game-winner.
The Spurs didn’t play a great game, but with the way the games are going at the AT&T Center this season the team and their fans will certainly take it.
And now for a Manu highlight! The veteran hero had a great game, finishing with 13 points, seven BEAUTIFUL assists, three steals and a game-high +16 on the night.

Kawhi Leonard had a nice game as well, shooting 50% on his way to 23 points and grabbing five boards, dishing two assists and notching a pair of steals in this one.
Your Spurs improve to 16-4 and sport the second best record in the league behind the 16-3 Warriors. The team isn’t exactly playing great basketball but they sure are racking up those wins. They’re on pace for a 66-win season. Imagine what it’s going to be like once the team really gets rolling!
Popovich Quote of the Night
On why the team waits until the fourth quarter.
I don’t think anyone waited until the fourth quarter.

The Spurs play three games on the road where they are apparently unbeatable. So let’s just pencil in a 19-4 record when they come back to the AT&T Center to host the Nets next Saturday.
