Gregg Popovich has no time for facts

Pop pulled up from 40 in a recent exchange with reporters, turning a simple question about three-point defense into 60 seconds of hilariously superfluous poppycock.

Gregg Popovich steered another harmless basketball-related question into an idiosyncratic back-and-forth about facts, politics and former coach Don Nelson. Here’s a transcript of the chat, courtesy of Jeff McDonald:

Pop continues to be one of the better quotes of the election season, regardless of how irreverent he chooses to be. For what it’s worth, though, all the Spurs’ three-point defense numbers look pretty middle of the pack to me, and I haven’t seen whether Pop posted a voting-booth selfie with Nelson’s name on the ballot.
