After shipping him to Austin yesterday, the San Antonio Spurs announced Thursday afternoon that they have recalled rookie Dejounte Murray from the D-League Austin Spurs.
The move comes ahead of Friday’s game against the Utah Jazz that both Danny Green (left quad strain) and Tony Parker (right knee soreness) will miss.
If the quick turnaround shows anything, it’s that Murray will likely be logging a lot of time on Interstate 35 this season, give coach Gregg Popovich’s tendency to rest his stars, the age of their starting point guard, and Murray’s need for playing time in order to develop.
