Kawhi Leonard be like...
Remember Brandon Armstrong? He’s the former NBA player who became semi-famous last year for his humorous YouTube videos impersonating NBA stars. He finally did Kawhi Leonard, and it’s arguably his best yet. He gets the high release point and emotionless facial expressions just right:
Tony Parker will never satisfy everybody
There have been several topics up for debate over the years, but few have brought as much disagreement among Spurs fans (and critics) as what Tony Parker’s true value is, even when he was an All-Star leading the Spurs to the Finals. Bleacher Report’s Mike Monroe discusses why it has been so hard for fans and pundits to reach an agreement on the venerable point guard’s status, even when the answer should be obvious.
When in doubt, why not ask his successor-in-training?
If anyone knows Parker’s true value today, it would the Spurs newest draft-night steal and hopeful starting PG of the future, Dejounte Murray. In a post-practice interview, he explained how he followed Parker’s play in high school and picks his brain today to soak up all the knowledge he can, while happily receiving pointers in return. Who wouldn’t want their future learning from the best in franchise history?
Contender or Pretender?
BBallBreakdown takes a look at the five teams in the league (minus the defending champs because duh) currently sitting at or near the top 10 in offensive and defensive efficiency, as well as point differential (three key factors in eyeing contenders), and determines if they are sustainable numbers throughout the season. Included are the Spurs, while the Dubs, who are still posting a middling defense but also don’t need much help answering that all-important question, are left out.
Fun Timmy Moment of the Day
Since we just learned that the Spurs will unsurprisingly retire Tim Duncan’s jersey next month, here is Armstrong’s hilarious impersonation of Timmy from last year (ball-hugging and all):
