San Antonio Vs. Miami, Final Score: Spurs beat Heat 106-99

Tonight proved how much LMA means to the Spurs, but his rest allows Pau to come alive in Miami with his first double-double as a Spur

The Good Guys prevailed tonight, even as LaMarcus Aldridge sat for rest. His presence was missed, as Hassan Whiteside lead the Heat with 27 points, taking advantage of David Lee and Pau Gasol in the paint. Without LMA in the post, Whiteside racked up 15 rebounds, 14 on the defensive end. We have all heard about Aldridge's defensive weaknesses, but tonight showed how important he is as a big body under the rim.

One of the bright spots tonight was watching Dewayne Dedmon show off his athleticism. He was constantly on the floor chasing loose balls, fighting for rebounds, and generally doing the positive things that don't show up on the stat sheets (his 9 points and 8 rebounds don't really do him justice for tonight)

The Spurs held a steady lead after being down 3-0 to begin the game, until Miami came back in the fourth to make the situation a bit dicey. They took the lead, 87-86 with 6:48 left in the game, but Patty hit a 3 off a great pass by Kawhi that gave the Spurs a lead they would not relinquish. Kawhi sealed the deal with two free throws with 38.9 left in the game, giving the Spurs a 103-99 lead that essentially ended the game.

Turnovers really killed San Antonio tonight, as they had 15, although Miami only scored 9 points off those turnovers, which is the mark of a great team...Not allowing a weakness to kill you.

As if it needs saying, Kawhi lead the Spurs with 27 points, although he also had 4 of the aforementioned turnovers. Oh well, I guess he's not a basketball god after all.
