Actor Jackie Earle Haley supports the Spurs at Sundance

Local San Antonio celebrity photographed reppin' the Spurs at the prestigious film festival.

Academy award nominated actor Jackie Earle Haley, who played Rorschach in 2009's Watchmen, was recently spotted at the Sundance Film Festival wearing a San Antonio Spurs cap.

Haley, who's also my former boss, made an appearance in Park City, Utah to promote The Birth of a Nation. The slavery drama -- in which Haley portrays the oppressive Raymond Cobb -- was picked up by Fox Searchlight for a Sundance record $17.5 million.

Another connection to the silver and black: San Antonio point guard Tony Parker and former Spurs guard Michael Finley served as the film's producers.

Haley is a San Antonio resident, and operates a local production company.

The San Antonio Spurs play the Cavaliers on Saturday in Cleveland, the setting for Haley's directorial debut Criminal Activities, which starred John Travolta and was released last year.

[Editor's Note: For those of you who have forgotten (or never got the chance to see it) after Watchmen  was first released, PtR ran a parody called WatchSpurs, which was the most popular post we'd ever published at the time. Check it out if you enjoyed the comic graphic novel or the movie. -- J.R. Wilco
