The NBA's best grocery store commercials are getting even better.
The Spurs and HEB announced yesterday that the biggest signing of the offseason, LaMarcus Aldridge, will be joining the Big Four (I found the order of the naming interesting, see below) in this year's TV ads. Last season's were off the charts, and there were considerable expectations even before this announcement.
But now, I have so many questions. They have never had so many players in a single ad. Will they all appear in every spot or will they rotate? How will they incorporate Aldridge? How will they write for such a big cast? Will there still just be three, or will they break tradition and produce more? Will Kawhi say 'indubitably" again?
I can't wait to see the ads and find out the answers.
The official press release follows:
H-E-B today announced the addition of the newest Spur, LaMarcus Aldridge, to the retailer's award-winning television commercials. LaMarcus will join the line-up alongside teammates Kawhi Leonard, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan. The commercials may also include other surprise appearances by other players this year.
"Like his teammates, LaMarcus brings a unique flavor and community commitment to San Antonio and we are excited to introduce him to Spurs fans through our commercials," said Cory Basso, H-E-B Group Vice President of Marketing and Advertising. "For the past 10 years H-E-B customers have enjoyed connecting with the Spurs through their passion for H-E-B products. Customers and fans alike look forward to our commercials every year to open the basketball season."
