Spurs to sign European Center Boban Marjanovic

Adam Hunger-USA TODAY Sports
David Pick reported the news of the Spurs' latest signing, a giant from Serbia:

According to Eurohoops.net, the Spurs have signed Boban Marjanovich to a 1-year $2M deal. Boban hopes that this will lead to him signing a multi-year deal in the league after this season.

Marjanovic is a 7' 4", 290-pound Center that last played for Crvena zvezda Belgrade, which is part of the Adriatic Basketball Association (ABA,) Euroleague and the Basketball League of Serbia. This past season, a breakout year for the 26 year old, saw him named Serbian Super League MVP and MVP of the ABA League playoffs. He was also selected to the All-Euroleague First Team and he led his team to the Serbian League championship as well as the ABA championship.

My favorite part of this whole thing is that his nickname is Bobi. That means that there will somehow be a Bobo (Boris Diaw) and a Bobi in an NBA locker room. I'm also looking forward to Popovich tearing into Marjanovic in Serbian.

Remember that that is a highlight video, but he is huge.
