Okay, let's get this out of the way: Kawhi Leonard is amazing, he's the best player on the team, the future looks bright and it's good to be a Spurs fan. We're going to have just one play from Kawhi in this edition of GIF Breakdown, because, well, I think we're reaching the point where all we're talking about is Kawhi. Plus, I'm working on a couple of videos of the kid. So please, don't ask why I left out a Duncan/Kawhi alley-oop -- that's like an every game occurrence these days.
But, these back-to-back plays were just too good to leave out. How about that for hustle?
Check out the crowd's reaction to Boris Diaw's great entry pass to Aron Baynes.
First of all, that pass from Manu Ginobili to Marco Belinelli is awesome and I'd like to invite you to appreciate it. Beli's semi-no-look pass to Baynes is nice, too, and Baynes' patience leads to a big jam.
Manu working his voodoo on Dion Waiters. Drop-step, spin-jab-step, a rip-through to get the defender off balance and then another rip the other way, one dribble (to the left of course,) and then a quick push-shot. If the Spurs win another championship, I hope Manu deserves the Finals MVP, because that will almost assuredly mean that we got to see even more beautiful basketball than the 2014 Finals.
This is what I mean about the beautiful basketball -- How many guys in the league can make this pass? Truly jaw dropping.
I don't see why we should move away from the joy of watching the wily Argentine, so here, check out Manu weave his way through a crowded lane with a little help from Tim. I don't know if this is the last run for The Magician, but I sure hope not.
One more awesome pass from The Manu. Baynes has become a really solid player and it'll be interesting to see what happens in the offseason, he'll probably get several good offers for his services.
The GOATPUFF swatted four shots on Tuesday night, none more fun that this rejection of Russell Westbrook. TIMMY!
Until next time, this team is so easy to root for.
