Final Score: Spurs cruise late, beat Suns 107-91

Erich Schlegel-USA TODAY Sports

A nice start from the Silver and Black put the Suns in a 17-6 hole seven minutes into the game and it looked like we were going to see the Spurs steamroll a lesser team and put the game away early. But Phoenix proved to be a pesky oppenent for the rest of the first three quarters, keeping the Spurs' lead to a slightly uncomfortable 10-15. This led to the starters all playing more minutes than I think would have been ideal.

The Spurs used a 11-3 run in the middle of the fourth quarter to push their lead out to 20 and essentially put the game away. Kyle Anderson was inserted for Diaw right there and the rest of the starters were pulled over the next two minutes.

Your Spurs improve to 55-26. I don't want to think about the playoff scenarios, but If you do, may I suggest this to you.

Game Notes:

  • The amazine Tim Duncan passed Kevin Garnett to move into 14th on the NBA's all-time scoring list as he upped his total to 25,959. Big Fun finished with the best line of the night, an otstanding 22-10-4-2-2.
  • Danny Green broke Chuck Person's franchise record for most made threes in a season with his 191st. V3RD3 finished 12-2-3-1-1 and led the team in plus/minus (+25.)
