A Pounding the Rock Christmas retrospective

A look back at some of the special posts we've done to make Christmas special for Spurs fans.

Over the years, we've done a number of creative things around Christmas, many of them have been initiated (if not completed entirely) by erstwhile PtR moderator, CapHill. Since we don't have any new offering for this year, JRW and I pulled together some of the previous holiday posts we've done for your yuletide pleasure. Merry Christmas, and a happy Spurs year.

CapHill re-imagined 'twas the night before Christmas as the night before the playoffs in 2010.

‘Twas the night before Playoffs,

and all through The League,

Not a player could sleep, except for Tim D.

The arena was glowing, a thrill filled the air,

In the hopes that the Finals would soon be played there.

Popovich was nestled all snug in his bed,

while nightmares of sangria ran through his head.

And Chip, his brain full of shooting tricks and tips,

Was dreaming of free throws winning the championship...

Yes, SiMA, There Is a Manu Claus. Here's the premise:

Dear Editor-

I am 80 years old. Some of my non-Spurs friends say there is no Manu Claus. JRW says, "If you see it on PtR, it's so." Please tell me the truth, is there a Manu Claus?

Sgt in Manu's Army

"Happy" Old Coach Popovich. Here are the Lyrics.

Last we have my absolute favorite "Christmas carol", You're a Sly One, Popovich. This was the one that really endeared PtR to me with its blend of music, absurdity and mythologization of Extraneous G. You can see the lyrics here.
