Support coach with a "Pop for President" T-shirt

With the holiday season upon us and the primaries are breathing down our necks. Show your civic pride by supporting someone who -- while having no chance of ever being elected president -- would be fun to watch cut the bull out of politics.

Started by a bumper sticker on a Buick LeSabre in California, "Pop for Prez" is just the kind of grass roots movement that catches the establishment off guard. He's lying low during the debate season, as if leading the Spurs is taking up all his time.

The coach is just as able to fend off questions about foreign policy as he is to stonewall reporters asking strategy questions about the Spurs' upcoming opponents -- all the while never saying a word about whether he will run for the highest office in the land.

Spurs fans and savvy NBA observers know that there's no other head coach with the intelligence and all-around knowledge to lead this country to the championship into a post-Obama era. After all, he regularly sprinkles random bits of non-sports related wisdom into his pre-game press conferences. Those who'd like to see him in the Oval Office understand that they don't just have to get a majority of Americans to vote for him, they have to convince the man himself that it's worth his time.

And with the primaries starting soon, there's not much time. So, all interested parties are encouraged to start local Pop for Prez groups to support the man who'd never think to throw his hat into the ring himself. To which end we are re-launching the Pop for President T-shirt from our friends at BreakingT.

Based on the campaign buttons of years past (like these for Eisenhower and Kennedy) this shirt proudly announces that you love the Spurs, their coach, and the good ol' USA.

So, if you want a cool-looking, soft-as-Charmin, shirt to support your favorite head coach, please be my guest. These shirts are high quality, super soft, and they age exceptionally well.

A couple of final notes, the BreakingT guys give me a couple of dollars for each of these that sells. Before I met them last year, I'd been looking for great shirts to promote on the site since I first took over PtR. And these are the only shirts I've sold on the site. They're comfortable, durable, (I hate cheap, scratchy-rough shirts) and ship out quickly. Lastly, if you're trying to choose between sizes, go with the larger of the two.
