Study Hall: Spurs ride two-pointers past Kings

New, comments

The Spurs destroyed the Kings with a great recipe for success - easy twos and withering defense with good ball movement and great execution.

Ed Szczepanski-USA TODAY Sports

Spurs 106, Kings 88 - Nov 9, '15

  • The Spurs managed a 14 percentage point advantage in effective Field Goal% over the Kings.  When you win that big in the biggest facet of the game, it's hard to lose.
  • A marginal BCI advantage for the Spurs and comparable rebounding rates meant the Spurs shooting advantage was enough to carry them to the easy victory.
  • Great assist number for the Spurs with 34 assists for an assist rate 73.9%, which is exciting to see in a game which same the Spurs' two best iso players score 40 points between them.  A whizzing Spurs offensive machine featuring two flamethrowers is a site to behold.
  • Really an all-around recipe for success here - good number of looks from three (although not many fell), killer looks from inside the arc and a ridiculous number of easy 2s, all while smothering the Kings defensively, forcing an abysmal 41.5% 2pt FG% from Boogie's squad and taking care of the ball and the boards.  Go Spurs Go!
