After visiting the White House in Washington D.C. on Monday, the Spurs are now set to take on the Washington Wizards. This is the second game between the 2 teams in 10 days, as the Spurs beat the Wizards in San Antonio on January 3rd. but there has been a big change since then for the Spurs: The return of Tony Parker.

In the last game versus the Wizards, Cory Joseph started at point guard in Parker's place. He had one of his best games as an NBA player, scoring 19 points on 8-10 shooting. He was able to attack the interior especially, scoring 4-5 in the painted area.

Parker's return will give the Spurs the best chance to replicate this gameplan. In the games since his return, he's been able to slice through defenses, and scoring fairly well. That penetration forces defenses to collapse down on him, creating open shots for his teammates spotting up

The Wizards will no doubt be looking for revenge in this rubber match versus the Spurs. Despite Joseph and San Antonio playing well, it was a winnable game for Washington. They just couldn't keep up with the Spurs' hot shooting, and eventually succumbed to defeat. They'll have to rotate well versus Parker's penetration, and not give the Spurs an opportunity to shoot 55% from the field again. The Spurs scored 52 points in the paint versus the Wizards in that game, a figure that is unacceptable for post defenders like Nene and Marcin Gortat. They'll definitely come to play on Tuesday.

Both teams are coming into this game pretty well rested. The Wizards had their last game on Sunday, a rough loss to the Atlanta Hawks. The Spurs have had a little more time off, with their last matchup having been on Saturday versus the Minnesota Timberwolves. Manu Ginobili is probable for the game, and Marco Belinelli is questionable. Kawhi Leonard is still out.
