Leonard rated 85 overall in NBA 2K15

After winning Finals MVP, Kawhi Leonard is now the third best Spurs player in NBA 2K15.

Kawhi Leonard has made the leap as the third best Spurs player, at least according to NBA 2K15 he is.

Leonard will be rated 85 overall once the game releases October 7, according to a leak that surfaced yesterday. It's no surprise that he'll get a bump up in the game after nabbing his first Finals MVP last season.

On basketball's biggest stage, Leonard averaged 17.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game while guarding the world's best player in LeBron James. He also had a series-defining dunk late in the second quarter of Game 4 of the NBA Finals that felt like it shattered Miami's hopes.

Leonard's regular-season numbers didn't increase dramatically from the 2012-13 season, but his playoff performance was enough to warrant a rating increase from the previous year's 82. For Leonard to continue rising in 2K, he might have to carry more of the scoring load next season and show his offensive game can be as great as his defense. He declined an invite from Team USA this summer to stick to his own workout and practice routine, so perhaps he'll be ready to show off new moves next year.

His all-around defense is the biggest reason to have Leonard on your 2K15 team. He can handle and pass the ball and he's slowly becoming a reliable shooter who can already score inside, but defense comes first for Kawhi.
