NBA virtual 1-on-1 tournament: Kawhi Leonard vs Anthony Davis

The next matchup in the 1-on-1 Summer Showdown is between rising star Kawhi Leonard and a taller rising star Anthony Davis.

The Rules

It is a half court game in which the scoring increments are 1 point for everything inside the arc, and 2 points for everything outside the arc. So long-distance bombers will do well in our tourney.  The higher seed stars off with the ball and the first player to 11 points wins. The possession switches every time the ball is scored, and your votes determine the winner.

Kawhi Leonard (2^nd Seed)

What Kawhi brings to the table in this tournament is unique to say the least. He is a defensive-oriented player who can hit the three ball and finish at the rim. He has great size and length to combat every type of player. He may not appear to the general NBA fan to be a serious contender in this format, but his change of playing style compared to many other players makes him lethal.

His first round matchup is not an easy one. He is facing another face of the next generation of NBA stars in Anthony Davis. Davis' size will make him incredibly hard to defend. The further away from the basket Kawhi keeps Davis, the better.

Anthony Davis (7^th Seed)

Anthony Davis is the best 7^th seed in this tournament. He is a real dark horse to make it out of the bracket. He has great length and height, he can defend very well, he moves well for his size and he can shoot well for his size. He is going to be a taxing matchup for any player that plays him.

He has to go up against Leonard who will give him problems while Davis is on offense. Kawhi will play a very smart game on both sides of the ball, and Davis is going to have to play a smart game as well. Davis' biggest downfall will be his ball handling. Kawhi is excellent at knocking the ball away from players who have better handles than Davis.  That could be his downfall in this matchup.
