After Monta Ellis threw the ball away late in the game the Spurs had one last chance to try to steal the game. Trailing two with 1.3 seconds left, the Spurs had five players on the court plus the inbounder. That's a great strategy, but the referees have to catch that kind of thing. The NBA is very fortunate that the inbound pass was batted out of bounds by the Mavs and that Patty Mills missed the final attempt for the Spurs.
