Must Reads
It's week 25 of the Fantasy Basketball season. Three more days to go and it's a wrap on the 2013-2014 season as well as this weekly column. I want to thank J.R. Wilco for giving me the opportunity to bring this to you every week and I would also like to thank you the reader for taking the time to read my presentation. It's always nice to know people are reading and most importantly that this column has helped you to win your league and from the responses I've received I know that it has.
This was the most asked question this week;
Dear Phil,
The last week of the season is three days long. Do you have any last minute advice for us?
Thanks for asking.
You'll want to pay attention to the schedule as there are six teams with only one game this week and every single one of them finishes on Wednesday which sucks but there isn't much we can do about it. Here are some names you can try this week.
Omer Asik PF C Houston: Dwight Howard has returned from his ankle injury but you can bet the rent he won't be logging heavy minutes this week. Insert the widely available Asik and watch your rebounds and point totals take a rise. (Stats)
Avery Bradley SG PG Boston: Since his return from an Achilles injury Bradley is lighting up the scoreboard and I'm fairly sure he will light up your scoreboard as well. (Stats)
Timofey Mozgov PF C Denver: Last week Mozgov played like a monster with 29 boards and 23 points against Golden State. While we can't expect these numbers every night look for a double double from him twice this week. (Stats)
Reggie Jackson PG Oklahoma City: Jackson has been a good fantasy option this season and I can't believe he's still available. More than likely the Thunder will be careful with Russell Westbrook so Jackson should see more minutes and more chances to make your scoreboard sing. (Stats)
On today's Phil Naessens Show Amar joins me to continue our discussion about the fantasy value of the future NBA Draft class, Joe Mullinax joins me to discuss the top defensive backs most likely taken in the first round of the NFL Draft and Kevin Lipe and I discuss the Memphis Grizzlies chase for the 8th seed and much more. You can listen to the show below or download it here.
Pounding the Rock Fantasy League
I would like to extend my thanks to the guys for letting me join their league this season. I had a lot of fun during the draft and that fun lasted throughout the season. I look forward to playing again next season! You can see the Finals battle between Kawhisenberg Level and Duncan's Donuts at the link below.
