Final Score: Spurs fall down 21, but come back to beat Suns 112-104

Gregg Popovich elected to rest his eldest veterans on the second night of a back-to-back. With Tim and Manu resting the shorthanded Spurs found themselves in quite the hole going into halftime. Tony exploded for six minutes and Danny Green scored all of the points as the Spurs toughed out a good win to secure the overall number one seed.

I've got to be honest with you, I didn't realize this game would not be televised in Austin. I was going to watch at a friend's house, but as gametime rolled around we realized it wasn't on and he doesn't have League Pass. So, I went back home to catch the game. I missed the entire first quarter.

I'm not too sure what happened, but the Spurs were down 37-24. The Spurs and Suns played a pretty even second quarter, and Danny Green, who had 11 points in the first quarter, scored 10 in the second. Tony Parker seemed bored, the team failed to gain any ground, and the Spurs went into the half trailing 49-62.

In the third it was the Spurs' turn to inflict damage. They got back everything they gave up in the first quarter plus five more. Parker came to life in a big way and dropped 14 on the Suns over the first six minutes of the quarter. Danny Green scored 11, and Kawhi, Boris, and Marco also had nice showings in the quarter. When the quarter was over the Spurs took a 86-81 lead after outscoring the Suns 37-19.

The good guys only scored four points in the first five minutes of the fourth while the Suns scored twelve. Phoenix regained the lead at 93-90. Kawhi Leonard then scored seven straight for the good guys, and then grabbed an offensive board that led to a timely Marco Belinelli three to push the Spurs out to a five point lead with three and a half minutes left in the game.

One last triple from Danny Green to give him a career-high 33 points for the night, a couple of misses from the Suns, and some free throws from the Spurs put an end to this one.

The good guys secure home court throughout the playoffs as they improve their record to an amazing 62-18. This team is great, and they are so easy to root for. Nothing left to do but wait and see who the Spurs get in the first round.
