As you know, I've never been the biggest fan of George Karl on or off the court. I think he's Don Nelson, with better press, an underachiever who's turned a bunch of 50-win seasons into squadoosh. I got ticked with Karl the other day for speculating about Tim Duncan's future and wrote a short post about it and now you can hear me defend my opinions to Phil Naessens, who obviously wants Karl to coach his Knicks.
Jokes!
Nah, actually Phil makes some good points and we have a nice back-and-forth about Karl the coach and the analyst. We also move on from that bit of business to discuss the Spurs middling record against good teams and what it means going forward. Hopefully it doesn't mean a whole heck of a lot, but we may be slightly biased.
After me, Zeb from Welcome to Loud City is on in his usual slot and he and Phil will chat about a variety of NBA topics, including the inconsistent-as-ever Warriors.
It's not all hoops on the show though. As you may be aware spring training is getting underway in MLB, and Phil welcomes Rich Baxter of FightinPhillies.com to discuss what their starting lineup projects to be. All I know is that it's going to be Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Jimmy Rollins and five other guys, but I suppose that's why I'm not a Phillies blogger.
