Final Score: Spurs squeak past Pelicans in OT, 95-93

New, comments

They couldn't finish it in regulation. In fact, they couldn't even finish it on their own.

It took an accidental tip-in from Omer Asik with .7 seconds left in the 4th to tie the game and keep the Spurs from ending 2014 on a increasingly sour note. Overtime was a crazy affair with the Pelicans immediately jumping out to a five point lead, but the Spurs came back with multiple plays by Manu Ginobilia terrific, layup-saving block from Danny Green and overall genius from Tim Duncan to put New Orleans away and start the new year with the chance for a winning streak.

There were so many great plays from the end of the game, but I'll leave you with the game-winner: Patty Mills to Tim Duncan to Manu for the basket that gave the Spurs their 2 point margin they held up through the closing seconds. (Happy New Year, and we'll see you in 2015.)
