Must Reads
Coming off of a hard fought 92-90 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers in Cleveland, the San Antonio Spurs sputtering offense is a getting a much-needed shooter back in the fold.
Marco Belinelli, who has been sidelined for the past eight games (mild strain, right groin), has finally been upgraded to probable. Though his minutes may be limited, the Spurs very much need his shooting in the lineup. After converting three-pointers at a 39.7 percent rate last season, that mark has dropped to 32.4 percent, 24th in the NBA.
Tiago Splitter (tightness, right calf), who has played just 11 minutes on the season, is still out. Though the Spurs have defended at a better rate than last season with Splitter, clearly his rim protection is still very much needed.
Matt Bonner, coming off a game-high 18 points in a win against the Philadelphia 76ers, will be out with a stomach virus that seems to be sweeping through the NBA.
Patty Mills's (right shoulder surgery) recovery timeline hasn't changed, as he is expected to be available at some point in January.
