Spurs waive Bryce Cotton and Josh Davis

With the regular season set to start in just five days, the Spurs have started to trim down to their 15-man roster.

It shouldn't come as a big surprise that Bryce Cotton and Josh Davis didn't make the regular season roster with the Spurs bringing back the entire 14-man roster from last season's playoffs and drafting Kyle Anderson. JaMychal Green is the last player on the training camp roster that doesn't have a guaranteed contract. He's an intriguing player, but it's hard to see the Spurs cutting someone to make room for him.

The official release from the team:

SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 23, 2014) - The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have waived guard Bryce Cotton and forward Josh Davis.

Cotton, who was signed by San Antonio on July 7, appeared in five preseason contests for the Spurs, averaging 4.8 points and 1.4 assists in 11.3 minutes.

Davis was signed by the Silver and Black on Aug. 27. In three preseason games, he averaged 1.3 points and 2.0 rebounds in 6.0 minutes.

San Antonio's roster now stands at 16.
