Greetings fellow Pounders and Guests!
We're heading into week eleven of the Fantasy Basketball season. Saturday we learned Los Angeles Clippers Point Guard Chris Paul would be out at least 3-5 weeks with a shoulder injury. We'll know the full extant of his injury later in the week but he's out and you Chris Paul owners need relief.
My Point Guard Picks of the Week.
Must Reads
Must Reads
Darren Collison PG Clippers: Seeing as though he'll get the bulk of Paul's minutes he the obvious choice. Don't be fooled by his season stats Collison is more than capable of replacing Paul in the short term. His lines of 20-6-3 against Dallas and 14-6-2 against the Spurs plus a few steals for good measure are good things. The Clippers have only three games this week (Orlando, Boston, Lakers) but Collison should do very well this week. He's currently owned in 22% of ESPN leagues and 35% owned in Yahoo leagues. (Stats)
Jarrett Jack PG Cleveland: Last year Jack was a sixth man of the year candidate. This season Jacks numbers are down but the guy can still is a good Fantasy option and considering Kyrie Irvings shaky health he could see more minutes this week. He had a nice line against Orlando (14-7-7) and laid a stinker against Brooklyn but with three games this week (Philadelphia, Utah, Sacramento) he'll have opportunities to help you out. Jack is currently owned in 33% of ESPN leagues and 32% of Yahoo leagues. (Stats)
Avery Bradley PG SG Boston: We've talked about Bradley many times this season. He's owned in 56% of ESPN leagues and 64% of Yahoo leagues. Boston has four tough games this week (Denver, Clippers, Golden State, Portland) but he should be able to hold his own against those big time point guards. (Stats)
Phil's Sleepers of the Week
Giannis Antetokounmpo SG Bucks: The Greek freak has arrived on the scene and with him getting more minutes he's stuffing the stats straight across the board. If he's available in your league grab while you can. The Bucks have three games this week (Golden State, Chicago, OKC) and being owned in only 27% of ESPN leagues and 30% of Yahoo leagues makes Giannis a no-brainer. (Stats)
Brandan Wright PF C Dallas: Wrights been picking up the minutes and making the most of them. With four games this week (Lakers, Spurs, Pelicans, Pelicans) Wright is the right move for you. He's currently owned in 6.8% of ESPN Leagues and in 24% of Yahoo leagues. (Stats)
Louis Williams PG SG Atlanta: Williams is still trying to put it all together since returning from knee surgery. He's had some really good games though and I expect he'll play well in Atlanta's four games this week (Brooklyn, Indiana, Houston, Memphis) so give him a shot. He's currently owned in 22% of ESPN leagues and 30% of Yahoo leagues. (Stats)
Spurs players to watch this week
The Spurs have three games this week (Memphis, Dallas, Minnesota) so Coach Greg Popovich being Pop quite a few Spurs will see plenty of action this week.
Marco Belinelli SG: Marco went nuts against the Knicks scoring 32 points. It's too bad he isn't able to do this every night but he's starting and that makes him somewhat attractive in deeper leagues. The best play with Belinelli would be on Wednesday as a daily league value pick. He's currently owned in 3% of ESPN leagues and 12% of Yahoo leagues. (Stats)
Danny Green SG: I don't know where his offense went this season but the guy can still light it up on occasion and when he does he makes Fantasy owners very happy campers. He'll be a good daily play against Memphis and Minnesota. He's currently owned in 44% of ESPN leagues and 63% of Yahoo leagues. (Stats)
On today's Phil Naessens Show Rotowire's Kyle McKeown and I discuss injuries and tons more, Indy Cornrows Tom Lewis and I discuss all things Indiana Pacers and Grizzley Bear Blues contributer Joe Mullinax talks Grizzly hoops. You can listen below or download the program here.
