Real GM reports that the 6'9, 248 lb, four year veteran James Johnson will work out for the Spurs, Hawks, and Jazz. He can defend both forward positions well and is one of the league's better shot-blockers from the small forward position, almost in the mold of a Josh Smith in terms of blocks, as this positive ESPN piece points out. Before seeing his production drop in Sacramento last season, Johnson had spent two fairly successful years in Toronto, averaging 9 points and 5 rebounds in under 30 minutes a game both seasons.
What do you say, Pounders? A backup for Kawhi/sixth big, or nothing to see here?
