GameThread for Golden State Warriors at San Antonio Spurs, May 6, 2013 8:30 PM CDT

The long wait is over. Nearly 200 hours have passed since the Spurs took their Round 1 brooms to the reeling Los Angles Lakers and put the series to bed like a four-year-old passed out from a long day at the zoo. (In other news, I took the jrwlings to the San Antonio zoo over the weekend.)

But this is the second round the Spurs are in now, and that's supposed to mean that things are going to get harder. And while it would be nice to see some competitiveness, especially after the way the Lakeshow seemed to lay down on their home court, it's with a bit of apprehension that this Pounder approaches a new oppenent because Pop's recurring admonition to have "the appropriate fear" continually echo in the mind.

Will the Spurs be rusty? Will the underdogs jump out to a lead? Will the AT&T Center be filled before tipoff? The answers to all these questions and more await us this evening in what promises to be an entertaining night of basketball.

One thing we know, Boris Diaw will start, so I guess that means he's healthy after his back surgery and four weeks off, eh?
