The Spurs had to suffer but finally prevailed over the Warriors in six games. Except for Tuesday's Game 5, every one of these six games came down to the wire, and the series clincher was no different. At times it seemed the Spurs were going to pull away, especially when they got a 13 point lead in the third quarter, but the Dubs always seemed to find an answer either from their star point guard or their bench.
Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili had rough shooting nights but they did a great job of distributing the ball on their way to a combined 19 assists. It took solid defense throughout, great performances by all the bigs and timely 3 point shooting late in the fourth to put away the scrappy Warriors but the Spurs came through when it mattered. They will now face the Grizzlies on the Western Conference finals on Sunday in San Antonio for game one.
